The LM-OP-UU Series is a specialized "Open Type" linear ball bearing, engineered for applications where linear shafts require intermittent or continuous support. Its defining feature is a strategically removed section of ball circuits, which creates an opening that allows the bearing to travel along a shaft without being obstructed by shaft support rails or blocks. This design is essential for preventing shaft sag over long spans, ensuring high rigidity and consistent accuracy throughout the entire travel distance.

Working Principle

The LM-OP-UU bearing is typically installed within a housing (such as an SBR or TBR block) which is then mounted to a moving component. The open section of the bearing faces the shaft support rail. As the assembly moves, the open slot glides over the support rail, while the remaining ball circuits maintain smooth, load-bearing contact with the top of the shaft, ensuring stable and uninterrupted linear guidance.

Manufacturing Processes and Procedures

The LM-OP-UU Series is manufactured through a precision-controlled process to ensure reliability and high performance.

1.Material Selection: The process begins with high-quality GCr15 bearing steel, chosen for the outer cylinder due to its excellent hardness, durability, and wear resistance.

2.Precision Machining: The outer cylinder is machined to its exact outer and inner dimensions. This stage includes the critical milling of the open section, which is performed with high precision to maintain the bearing's structural integrity.

3.Raceway Finishing and Hardening: The internal raceways, where the ball bearings travel, are precision-ground to an exceptionally smooth finish. Subsequently, the outer cylinder undergoes a specialized heat treatment process. This hardens the raceways, significantly increasing wear resistance and load-carrying capacity for a long operational life.

4.Component Assembly: High-precision steel balls are carefully loaded into a durable resin retainer, which ensures proper spacing and guides their smooth recirculation. This retainer assembly is then inserted into the hardened outer cylinder.

5.Seal Integration: Durable rubber seals are fitted into grooves on both ends of the bearing. These seals are essential for retaining lubricant inside the bearing and preventing the ingress of dust and other contaminants.

6.Final Quality Control: Every bearing undergoes a rigorous final inspection to verify its dimensional accuracy, smoothness of motion, and overall quality. After passing inspection, each unit is lubricated with anti-rust oil and securely packaged for dispatch.
