Operating Principles
The HGH Series operates on the fundamental principle of maximizing force transmission through preloaded rolling contact:
1.Rolling Element Recirculation: The balls roll within the raceways, minimizing friction. The internal return path mechanism within the block ensures the balls are continuously cycled back to the load-bearing zone, providing unlimited, low-friction linear travel.
2.Four-Way Load Equalization: The 45-degree contact angle of the raceway ensures that external forces are uniformly distributed across the four rows of rolling balls. This geometry allows the HGH to maintain its stiffness and accuracy regardless of the direction of the applied load.
3.Rigidity from Preload: The carefully applied preload keeps the balls in constant, rigid contact with the raceways. This condition eliminates any movement or "slop" within the system, providing the high system stiffness essential for precision machining where tool deflection must be minimized.
