1. The U-Shaped Steel Rail (Chassis)
The defining characteristic of the KK Series is the U-Rail. Unlike traditional systems that mount separate guide rails to an aluminum base, the KK module's body is the rail-a single, solid piece of high-strength steel.
- Engineering Detail: The linear guideway raceways are precision-ground directly into the inner walls of this U-channel. This monolithic design offers exceptional structural rigidity and torsional resistance while maintaining a low vertical profile.
2. The Precision Ball Screw (Drive Mechanism)
Centrally positioned within the U-Rail is the ball screw, responsible for converting rotary motor input into linear motion.
- Engineering Detail: The series utilizes high-precision ground or rolled screws (Accuracy Grades C3 to C7). Factory alignment ensures the screw is perfectly parallel to the guide tracks, guaranteeing smooth, bind-free operation.
3. The Integrated Slide Block (Carriage)
The slide block is a sophisticated hybrid component that integrates the functions of a Ball Screw Nut and a Linear Guide Block into a single unit.
- Guidance: The sides of the block feature recirculating balls that engage the U-Rail tracks (typically utilizing a Gothic Arch design for equal 4-way load capacity).
- Drive: The center of the block houses the ball screw nut circuitry.
- Benefit: This integration drastically reduces the stack height, establishing the KK series as the lowest-profile actuator in its class.
4. Support Units (Bearing Housings)
Precision support units anchor the ball screw at both ends of the U-Rail.
- Motor Side (Fixed): Houses paired Angular Contact Bearings to absorb axial thrust and rigidly maintain screw position.
- End Side (Supported): Houses a Deep Groove Ball Bearing to support the shaft's radial load while accommodating thermal expansion (floating) during high-speed operation.
5. The Motor Flange (Adapter)
The Motor Adapter Flange acts as the precise interface between the KK module and the drive motor (Servo or Stepper).
- Engineering Detail: It features a precision-machined pilot hole and bolt pattern to ensure perfect concentricity between the motor shaft and the ball screw, preventing misalignment and coupling wear.
6. Protection Components (Seals & Covers)
To ensure longevity, the internal mechanisms are robustly shielded.
- End Seals: Rubber wipers on the slide block prevent particulate ingress into the raceways.
- Cover Options: An optional flexible Stainless Steel Cover Strip (magnetically retained) seals the top of the U-Rail, protecting the screw from metal chips and debris. Aluminum covers and bellows are also available for harsher environments.
