The Spherical Bearing Assembly: Pressed into the "eye" of the housing is a precision spherical plain bearing, which is comprised of:

• An Inner Ring (The Ball): This is a spherical ring with a convex (outwardly curved) outer surface and a central bore for a mounting bolt or pin.
• An Outer Ring (The Race): This is a liner with a concave (inwardly curved) inner surface that perfectly mates with the inner ring.

Articulation and Misalignment Compensation: The core of the bearing's function lies at the spherical interface between the inner and outer rings. This design allows the inner ring to pivot and rotate freely in multiple directions within the housing. When the connected machine parts change their angle relative to each other, the inner ring simply tilts within the outer ring.
