Our high-torque, monolithic rigid shaft coupling is engineered for highly reliable, backlash-free power transmission. The split-clamp design compresses uniformly across the shaft's circumference, minimizing slippage under heavy loads while protecting precision-ground surfaces from damage. This design offers exceptional torsional stiffness alongside low rotational inertia, supporting stable performance under high-torque operating conditions.
Operating Principle: Symmetrical Clamping
Rigid clamping couplings secure shaft interfaces utilizing the mechanics of uniform radial compression.
- The Limitation of Set-Screw Fastening: Traditional solid-ring couplings use set screws (grub screws) that bite directly into the shaft. This concentrates torque transmission on a localized point, which is prone to slippage under heavy loads and leaves raised burrs (craters) on the shaft, complicating disassembly.
- The Clamping Solution: Clamping-style rigid couplings utilize a single- or double-split design. As the high-tensile socket head cap screws are tightened, the inner bore compresses uniformly around the shaft. This distributes clamping pressure evenly across the circumference, significantly increasing the static friction contact area.
- The Result: This non-marring clamping method minimizes slippage while protecting motor and ball screw shafts from scratches, burrs, and surface deformation.
