Core Functions of the SCS Linear Slide Block
1.Geometric Adaptation (Round-to-Flat Interface):
The primary function of the SCS block is to serve as a structural interface. While round shafts provide excellent guidance, they lack a mounting surface for payloads. The SCS block solves this by providing a precision-machined flat top surface equipped with four threaded mounting holes. This allows for the direct, secure attachment of carriages, sensors, or camera plates without the need for custom machining.
2.Precision Housing & Assembly:
The SCS unit acts as a rigid, pre-assembled housing for the linear bearing.
- Retention: It secures the internal bearing (LM...UU) with the correct interference fit and internal snap rings.
- Alignment: The aluminum body is machined to ensure the bearing sits perfectly parallel to the mounting plane, significantly simplifying machine assembly and reducing alignment errors.
3.Friction Reduction:
Integrated within the aluminum block is a standard recirculating ball bushing. This mechanism converts high sliding friction into low-resistance rolling friction, enabling motors to drive heavy loads with high efficiency and minimal force.
