Working Principle
A TBR linear guide rail operates by utilizing a sophisticated system of recirculating steel balls that move between a hardened cylindrical shaft and a flanged linear bearing block. This ingenious design allows the system to achieve exceptionally smooth, low-friction linear motion, which is essential for high-precision applications.
The core principle is the conversion of high-resistance sliding friction into much lower rolling friction. Instead of two flat surfaces sliding against each other, hardened steel balls roll between the stationary shaft and the moving block. These balls are contained within a closed-loop recirculating system inside the bearing block. This allows for infinite travel along the length of the shaft, as the balls continuously cycle through the load-bearing zone and a return path.
This rolling action, rather than sliding, significantly reduces the force required to move a load, enabling highly precise and repetitive positioning.
