
One-piece clamping collars secure shafts by utilizing the mechanics of radial compression.
The Structure: The collar is engineered as a solid ring featuring a single radial slit on one side. A high-tensile, socket-head cap screw is positioned perpendicularly to bridge this gap.
The Clamping Action: Applying torque to the single cap screw draws the two sides of the slit closer together, decreasing the inner diameter of the collar.
The Physics: Rather than concentrating force on a localized point (as with set-screw designs), the inner circumference of the collar applies uniform radial pressure. This distributes the clamping force across the shaft's surface area, significantly increasing the static friction contact area without damaging the shaft.
Material Options: Aluminum alloy, medium carbon steel (45#), and 304 stainless steel.
