Working Principle: KK Series Linear Module
1. Integrated Architecture: Drive and Guide
In traditional linear stages, the drive mechanism (Ball Screw) and the guidance system (Linear Rail) are separate components mounted to a base plate. The KK Series revolutionizes this by integrating both functions:
- The Body is the Guide: The main structural component is a rigid, U-shaped steel channel. The linear guideway raceways are precision-ground directly into the inner walls of this body.
- The Slider is the Nut: The moving block acts as a hybrid component, simultaneously functioning as the Ball Screw Nut (for propulsion) and the Guide Block (for load bearing).
2. Transmission Mechanism (Rotary-to-Linear)
Propulsion is achieved through a high-efficiency ball screw system.
- Actuation: A motor (Servo or Stepper) is coupled to the ball screw shaft. As the motor rotates, the shaft spins.
- Conversion: The integrated slider block contains recirculating ball bearings that engage the screw threads. Since the U-rail constrains the slider from rotating, the screw's rotational energy forces the slider to translate linearly.
- Efficiency: This rolling contact converts torque into axial thrust with over 90% efficiency.
3. Guidance Mechanism (U-Rail Technology)
While the screw drives the block, the U-shaped rail ensures precise trajectory.
- Gothic Arch Contact: The rail raceways utilize a Gothic Arch groove design, ensuring a 45-degree contact angle for the steel balls.
- 4-Way Load Capacity: This geometry enables the module to sustain loads in all directions: Radial, Reverse-Radial, and Lateral.
- Structural Stiffness: The U-shape geometry offers a high Moment of Inertia, making the rail exceptionally resistant to torsion and bending, even under cantilevered loads.
4. Dual Recirculation System
To enable continuous motion, the slider utilizes two independent ball circulation paths:
- Drive Cycle: One set of balls recirculates through the nut and screw threads to drive the block.
- Guide Cycle: A separate set of balls recirculates between the slider body and the U-rail tracks to guide the movement.
- Return Mechanism: Specialized end caps redirect the rolling elements back to the start of their respective circuits, creating an infinite, low-friction loop.
5. Precision & Alignment
The KK Series eliminates the "stack-up errors" common in assembled stages. Because the guide tracks and ball screw are aligned and integrated at the factory, the system achieves Precision Grade (P) repeatability (typically ±0.003mm to ±0.01mm) immediately upon installation.
