1. Standard Cylindrical Linear Bearings (LM Series)
The LM Series represents the fundamental linear bushing design-a streamlined cylinder with no external protrusions.
Ultimate Compactness: Lacking a flange, this bearing offers the smallest possible radial profile. It is designed to be fully embedded within a housing block, making it the ideal choice for space-constrained applications where protruding bolt heads are unacceptable.
Cost Efficiency: The standard cylindrical design is generally the most economical option per unit, offering significant savings for high-volume manufacturing.
Rotational Optimization: Prior to securing with snap rings, the bearing can be rotated freely within the housing. This allows engineers to orient the ball circuits away from the primary load zone, optimizing service life.
Installation Requirement: Utilizing the LM series requires a precision-machined housing (typically H7 tolerance) and retention mechanisms such as Snap Rings (C-Clips), which increases the machining complexity of the mounting block.
2. Flanged Linear Bearings (LMF / LMK / LMH Series)
The Flanged Series integrates a mounting plate directly onto one end of the outer cylinder, simplifying the mechanical interface.
Simplified Mounting: This is the primary advantage. Flanged bearings eliminate the need for precision housing bores. They can be inserted into a clearance hole and bolted directly to a machine wall or plate, drastically reducing frame machining costs.
Superior Axial Fixation: Unlike standard bearings that rely on friction or clips, flanged bearings are bolted parallel to the shaft axis. This mechanical lock ensures the bearing can withstand significant axial (push/pull) forces and vibration without shifting.
Structural Versatility:

  • Square Flange (LMK): Flat sides allow for a compact mounting footprint, ideal for designs requiring flush mounting or tight spacing.
  • Oval Flange (LMH): Optimized for applications with restricted mounting width (trimmed sides).
